Italy is delightfully complex.  Every region has layers of history, cultural differences, food specialties, wine to steal your heart, artisans beyond compare, and a glorious landscape to take your breath away.

Escape with us and experience a country with traditional Mediterranean values and a pace of life reminiscent of the past.  We’ll visit small wineries, ancient abbeys and cathedrals, charming hill towns, archeological sites, wild sandy beaches, markets, festivals….tours as diverse as Italy itself. 

Hosting small group tours in Italy for the past ten years gives me a unique perspective, and a base of knowledge and experience that only comes with time and discovery.  I would like to share with you the places, the people, and the passion I feel for this country that has changed my life.  I believe its siren song will sing its way into your soul and you, too, will be forever changed.

Great Escapes in 2012 will include Tuscany, Venice, and the Amalfi 
Coast. 

Our Tuscan Village Escape will take us to the rolling countryside of the Val D’Orcia, near Pienza, the jewel-like Renaissance village.  We’ll stay in an elegantly restored 13^th century villa on a 72 acre estate, with vineyards and olive trees.  The villa is ideally located for exploring the lovely Tuscan towns of Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, and more....all close by and steeped in history, art, and wonderful food and wine.  You'll have cooking classes, art lessons, winery and cheese-tasting tours, opportunities for ballooning and much more.


The Autumn in Amalfi  Escape will be based in the lovely village of Praiano, a few kilometers from Amalfi, Ravello, and Positano, the cliffside villages of the famous Amalfi Coast.  This tour, led with my Italian partner Roberto Crocenzi, will focus on the best this area has to offer in food, wine and history.  Your small group of six will decide the daily itinerary according to your preferences - Pompei, the beautiful Isle of Capri, Sorrento - there is much to discover. The incomparable beauty of this area of Italy will greet you each morning as you step out onto your terrace overlooking the sea....pure magic.


The Spirit of Italy Escape with Brian Luke Seaward, Ph.D., of Boulder, Colorado, will include the art city of Florence, the Renaissance village of Pienza in southern Tuscany, and end in the mystical city of Venice.  Luke is regarded as one of the world's leading experts in the fields of stress management and mind-body-spirit healing.  He is an award-winning author, photographer, filmmaker and teacher.  I am happy to be organizing and leading this tour for him for the second year.  Join us to learn how to de-stress your mind and body, and find a peaceful spirit.  It works!
